Wind Turbine Design
Overview
Wind turbines populate the landscape in many parts of the world. These systems harness naturally abundant wind and transform it into electrical energy. Turbine blades efficiently convert wind energy into a force which turns a wind turbine. This energy conversion is an application of aerospace engineering principles. In this project my team researched, designed, created, and tested wind turbine blades.
Equipment
- Cardboard
- Mount
- 3D printed turbine
- Plastic Holder
Procedure
- Research wind turbine blade design.
- Made parts on inventor
- Cut parts out with lazor
- Built eac design and the tested with blade at different angles
Construction
- Design blade on inventor
- Cut 3 blades out on inventor
- Wet each side of the blade to curve it
- Test

Reflection
My team and I researched and found the number amount of blades that is most effective. We looked at other blade wind turbines online and then made our own design out of it. Our first design was made up of 3D printed material. This design was worse than the other to because it was the heaviest and the way we build it on an angle made it easier to test. To improve this design we had to make it out of cardboard to make it lighter.
